FINALLY got this! Highly anticipated! The Aimee Kestenberg All For Love Saddle Crossbody Bag is a soft grain leather crossbody with incredible detailed whip stitching up each side, which makes this bag more eye catching than a typical camel-colored crossbody.
I got this in the Chestnut Brown and it’s a gorgeous color. I saw the black option and that was too close to patent leather shiny. This color looks soft and touchable and neutral for all seasons. Its size dimensions are correct. This is small, so it’s not for those who like to pack for every last eventuality. The inside is fully lined, though only attached at a center point in the bottom.
There is an inside zip and a single inside slip pocket. There is also a back slip pocket with magnetic tab closure. None of these fit a Samsung Galaxy 22Ultra phone, which is one of the larger phones out there. The inside slip pocket just fits a pair of cheap reading glasses in a case. I have a giant Hobo wallet that just makes it in here. If you have smaller accessories, this will work in your favor but for reference, I managed a Hobo wallet, reading glasses, a single set of keys (and it’s a fairly big key set), chapstick (but not my larger Fenty Gloss Bomb), and a small knife. Can’t go much more than that but living lighter is the key.
The strap is completely detachable to turn this into a clutch. I’m not much of a clutch person (too afraid I’d set this down and forget it) but it would make a unique one beside of that whipstitch design. I personally find the shape (which is slightly larger at the bottom than top) and overall compact shape with the soft leather not as easy to hold for a clutch (I tend to favor clutches that are wider to help balance, an even shape from top to bottom so it’s easier to grab, or for large clutches, an extra hand strap on the back). When using the strap, the bag hangs well and doesn’t cut into the neck. Because this isn’t large, you can’t really overload it to create a weight issue.
If the price seems steep, it’s really not for good, genuine leather purses. This is well within the range for something of this detail. The wonderful color, detailed stitching, and overall soft feel and balance make this a good investment for purse lovers. It’s unique crafting and will stand out. I expect this butter soft leather to wear nicely over the years and give this a well-loved patina.
